Whenever I listen to this song, I just think about how this songs feels like it's talking about the pain of unrequited love. Like, there's such a struggle to want to let this person go so they can be happy, and also being angry at the one this person chose. Giving someone up is so hard to do and the emotions that hit you are so powerful, probably with the chorus: 'Don't you choke' and 'go for the throat'. You literally feel choked up trying to let them go.
