Rewatching this after a year and I can finally appreciate how this did something that many mainstream movies cant say they have done: discuss social issues without having them be the whole point of the movie. i love how accurate the school nurses are in the Nurse’s Office mv (at least in my experience) cus even when you get sent to the nurse’s office EVEN WITH LIKE.. I love how aside from Melanie writing and directing a movie, making it realistic (trabsphobia, ed’s, bullying, etc), she made it free. I cant believe it came out 2 years ago!! I feel like it was yesterday of me waiting 8 hours to get home and wait for it to come out! Great movie, all the songs have been replaying in my head for as long as I can remember. I enjoy the fact that her songs are very relatable. First time I heard orange juice I cried, I just heavily related to it. What really got me was when she said ‘The way you look is not an issue’ and ‘Your body is imperfectly perfect Everyone wants what the other one's working’. I love your work melanie 💖

Gabrielle it’s means every time she eats, she throws it up. So the food is the oranges, and her throw up would be the juice. I liked the scene in which Kelly was cutting her forehead, because it meant so much to me. Because to me shows how Kelly git into her head and manipulated her into thinking she had to be perfect.

orange juice is probably my favorite song and im actually pretty proud of myself for being able to understand it, its about someone having bulimia and the oranges are the food they eat and the orange juice is the digested food/vomit (you can see her vomiting orange juice in the toilet) and it talks about how the girl isnt happy with her body image. I really felt that one, and its only one of many many everyday problems she touches
