I'm indigenous myself and have lost many sisters to the grasp of disgusting men. This song makes me feel empowered, just to imagine letting all of those men drown in vengeance of our stolen sisters. Even in unfortunately regular cases of non-MMIW misogyny, it's still impactful. Women are expected to nurture and baby men, even if they abuse us. When we fight back, we are only seen as "monsters."

Being a trans-man and seeing both sides has made me so much angrier and so much more feminist... seeing how differently I'm treated while seen as a man... the way I'm suddenly human... and the way I never was... I love this song with a burning passion. I also love the way it links back to Cry Baby. Both very important songs to me. From beginning, to end, this trilogy has been there for me and supported me through so much suffering, so often induced by men. I'm grateful the albums released at a pace that matched my life, bringing me an experience like no other. Cry Baby encouraging me to finally start feeling my feelings, be who I am and comforting me in my fear while feeling so small and helpless. K-12 there when the pressures around school, society and living like a teenage girl had all grown too much and I attempted to take my life many times. Portals representing my rebirth after one last attempt, entering adulthood and becoming free of my abusive family, the strength I've found in my anger and a final reminder that I'm not as alone as I feel. I can never truly express just how much her music means to me.

This is seriously one of her best songs. The lyric is mesmerizing. She gave us the fairly tale + horror vibe with this song. The hatred is getting stronger toward the end of the song. After I listen to Portals, I understand why she doesn’t want to include this song in the normal album since it doesn’t match the theme.

I’ve just realised that in the first song of Crybaby (Crybaby) she repeats the lyric ‘let them drown’. And in the last song of Portals (Milk Of The Siren), the lyrics ‘let them drown’ is also repeated multiple times 🤣

Being the survivor of so many toxic relationships and so much abuse this song echoes the woman I hold at bay. This song is such an outstanding proclamation of the exploitation of artists in the industry K-12 paints the picture of innocence lost and this song showcases the survival instinct of those who make it out of that horrible phase who are thrown away when they mature into the demons created. This to me tells the story of a girl who fell in love after with someone she thought was different who inevitably showed her to “strangle the thought of whose deservin” because continually being hurt seems to be the rhythm. 🎉 and ode to women to keep fighting.
