This song talks about how she's getting bullied so she is pretending to be sick to get back home because no one is helping her. And when they gave her that bottle of medicine it was probably a representation of her resorting to drugs which at first made her happy, but soon, even more stressed than before.

When I was a kid I was bullied so heavily that I would pretend to be sick to go to the Nurse's Office hoping they would send me home. So yeah this song hits close to home. I'm an adult now but the effects of bullying and abuse in my childhood has caused damage. depression, anxiety and ptsd.

same, i don't know why some kids like to bully. I always faked being sick and my mum wasn't happy about it. I now have new amazing classemates, but I have all the anxiety and panic attacks from past years. My therapist sugested to switch to classes for adults, because they are online now and I won't have to deal with all the stress. I feel so bad for leaving my friends, but I don't know how else would I finish highschool, without being home every second day. I feel like a failure most of the time, but I know that others have all the strenght to visit school because they didn't go trough trauma, like some of us did. I'm happy to have my family and boyfriend by my side so I don't give up. You are not alone💪

I owe a lot to melanie for creating this song because it helped me through a very difficult period in my life as I was feeling very exhausted and lacking in energy and this song sounded like a kind of "medicine" to keep me strong and keep having strength to live update: I managed to beat the year 2023, I managed to finish school. I'm currently going to college, it's tough and I often feel tired and without strength, especially now working but at least I'm earning my money and trying to be happy with the small achievements I'm having and I believe that I'll still be able to overcome my problems, both family and myself. So if I haven't killed myself yet, it's because God must have bigger plans for me and if I managed to get out of bed, overcome my exhaustion or lack of living, sometimes you can too Believe me, little by little things will adjust

I was bullied for a while in elementary and middle school, but I never went to the nurse’s office to get away because I always thought of it as “I’m not allowed to go there unless I am sick”. So, I had to endure and cry quietly in my flex classes (middle school) or be sad for the rest of the day (elementary) until I got home where I would always put on a smile. I never really fully listened to this song but it’s been my favorite since I first heard it back when it was released. Now, I understand why, thank you Melanie ♥️

So I went to the nurses office a lot as a kid because for some reason I got a lot at acid reflux and heart burn as a kid, turns out I just had terrible anxiety that causes terrible heart burn and I was so anxious as a kid because some many kids at my elementary school bullied because of my autism
