People are missing the point of the song insisting it's about Trump lol. It's definitely alluding to him, but it's not about him, it's about everyone in a position of power who abuses it or leaves the world worse than they left it, selling out and pushing harmful causes at the expense of future generations who will actually have to deal with them, but it's also a double entendre, she's talking about principles as in actual principles; we're losing our principles and need to find something to stand up for, and do what's right.
