i don't believe there are "fans" who unfollow melanie because of this new era and aesthetic. Melanie worked at this for years, putting every bit of her into it only to be dismissed like this. I should be grateful to melanie for literally changing my life and teaching me so many lessons. I love melanie and she will always be in my heart ♡♡

Oh wow I didnt know people would unfollow her just because of this, and I’ll admit I was kind of freaked out about this whole new aesthetic, because I randomly saw her youtube channel icon changed into some creature ?? 😅 (Also I dont follow her social medias only youtube so I dont know what is happening around Melanie Martinez.)

No because the way Womb ends with "is life is death" on repeat is amazing because it's talking about the womb which is the life, and then Death starts with the same "is life is death" on repeat representing the death part. The best part is that Death is the first song and Womb is the last so when you're finished listening to Womb it basically continues into Death, when the playlist starts over, which is amazing.

This song gives you such a nostalgic feeling that you just died. You're in the womb and someone is giving birth to you during a beautiful event of sun rise beginning. Life goes by like a blink of an eye, you're grown up enjoying your life and diving a car down the highway, catching the sunset.

Same I do not fear death. I never have, since I was a young kid (around 6) I've been fascinated by death and rebirth. Being a mortician is one of my possible career paths. Have you guys noticed this album starts with Death and finishes with a Birth? Because it's the cycle of reincarnation. This is why it starts with "Life is death, is life..." and finishes with it too, so it would be a big cycle of listening the album over and over, like lives we have.

@yukicross989

Also, what they’re not understanding is crybaby is Mel when she was 19 years old. The fact that people are arguing and fighting for someone who is well into her 20s to continue to make music and act like she’s 19 for their comfort is weird. She’s growing into herself. she’s growing not only as an artist but as a woman, and she has the right to expressed that. But people saying “oh I’m not following you because of how your music is evolving and I’m on comfortable with the new look “ already tells us that you were a fan conditionally, because if you truly loved an artist, you would watch them go through the different phases of their life you may not like every single phase. You may not connect to all the music in every single phase, but to outright say you are no longer a fan of them, because they are growing up and changing is a problem. They’re asking her to keep the mentality of a 19-year-old for them

WOMB I knew I wanted the album to end on the title "WOMB." This was one of the earliest songs written in 2020. Had a session one day with Omer Fedi as part of a week of sessions I had with different people. Omer started playing these guitar chords that were so beautiful, I asked him to play it on loop while I stared at the corner of the room quickly writing lyrics. CJ and I had Rhys come in and record live drums around 2 years later to complete it. This song was written from the perspective of entering a new lifetime. The feeling of nerves and excitement that arise when you're about to forget everything you know about your true self as a soul in order to let your human experience on earth move your progression forward. - Melanie Martinez

WOMB A seed in mother And I chose that space for me Little does she know it ’s free Oooh yeah I’m undercover As they wait for joy, I cry On a mission, learn and die Oooh yeah And I know my brother He’ll make the journey later on Conversations in the cosmos yeah And it’s all a game now But once I’m in the world it’s lost Memories gone to evolve Oooh yeah Merging cells and flesh I’m baby building All my insides Right to see the future right before my eyes I know what’s coming, what’s coming In the womb get me out now, safe and I’m sound Cut the cord, I’m comin Out the blue, belly water too, hot and cold Through with it oh now she’s birthing Feeling alive, the closer that I get to my life I’m pushing out the center, the core I’m swimming through the flower no more All of the planning, yet I still feel unprepared Kicking, screaming cuz I’m scared Oooh yeah And I know she suffers, contractions of hell and death Eyes are bloody screaming out Oooh yeah Merging spirit, mind, and body Building all my insides Right to see the future right before my eyes I know what’s coming, what’s coming In the womb get me out now, safe and I’m sound Cut the cord, I’m comin Out the blue, belly water too, hot and cold Through with it oh now she’s birthing Feeling alive, the closer that I get to my life I’m pushing out the center, the core I’m swimming through the flower no more No more Life is death, is life, is death, is life, is

I like how over the years the albums seemed to begin talking about children and their struggles (hinting to Melanie's past too) And then getting to highschool talking about the first love and other problems with society and everything, and then there was the bakery and everything where u feel like it's in adulthood talking about life's meaning and accepting yourself and stuff and getting philosophical, and now we're here at the death and rebirth and then the cycle continues and I believe this is in itself an art form. And how the art and aesthetic changed throughout the years starting from cutsy vintage fashion clothes slowly sliding twords magic, weird core, and disturbing scenery, and fantasy creatures. There's no cutsy dress anymore no baby doll aesthetic because the standards have changed. You're the judge of your own life and now that you've spent all your youth trying to break from the social norms you can finally blossom into a beautiful flower but ultimately life itself with all it's goods and it's bads and it's creepy and it's lovely with keep on going. And you can't sorrow about it forever.

Melanie’s ability to delve into complex concepts so elegantly will forever be my favorite quality of hers. She’s able to conceptualize the birthing process to greater lengths. She’s provided me with a different outlook of life and death and how are physical forms are temporary vessels for us to gather higher knowledge. I will forever be grateful for her insight and work of art. Also can we talk how this song is the perfect way to end an album? Once again, thank you mel for another masterpiece 💗💗

I love how Womb transitions back to Death but did you realise that all albums (Crybaby, K-12, etc) all connect with each other? This symbolises that “Crybaby” will have this journey again and again - Dying, awaking in a new form, in the womb. Melanie said: “Womb was written from the perspective of entering a new form/lifetime. The feeling nerves and excitement that arise when you’re about to forget everything you know about your true self as a soul in order to let your human experience on earth move your profession forward.” I really like this song because the tune reminds me of a game show (So random but yeah) and it just gives you a visual of Melanie in the womb and how she feels. 🤍🕯️

3:21 in the K-12 movie Angelita and Crybaby were having a conversation and it ended with one of them saying, “you start in the womb and you end in the tomb.” And in DEATH in the beginning, there is a voice that says “death is life,” so on and so forth. And the same thing happens at the Enzo of this song. At: 3:21 you can hear the same voice. Just to let everyone know, you start in the womb and you end in the tomb:)

I know nobody is gonna see this, certainly not melanie, but this song means so much to me. I was born with chronic illness, and I only recently made the realization that I've been living on autopilot for the majority of my life. WOMB made me realize that, as soon as I was born, I may have been living with chronic conditions that I can't get rid of, not truly, but I can learn to live with and have a happy life. I can finally "feel alive" because this motivated me to open up to that idea. Thank you so much Melanie. You helped me through my familial trauma with my mom with Dollhouse, and now you've opened my eyes to being able to truly live a life I'll be proud of.

Something I noticed is that some songs in this album have common themes of basically not reducing your self-worth. And the cool thing is that it all ends with this song. WOMB itself is not connected to the theme of self-worth, however, about this song, Melanie stated, "...you're about to forget everything you know about your true self as a soul..." Cool thing is, empowering your self worth is A LOT like soul consciousness, realizing you're a soul and not even your body; and realizing that life on earth in your human body is pretty much a game/fixed drama.

This song is amazing. The lyrics, instrumentals, voclas are just golden. My life has changed since i found about Melanie. Whenever I feel depressed or sad /Sucidial i always listen to her. She's the only artist that gave me a reason to live.

I love that wierd-fairycore aesthetic, it happend to be weird at first but i LOVE IT SO MUCH it is so much Melanie style that I couldn't care less, what is important the most right now is that Melanie is happy about who she is and I am not complaining, couse her music is great and still I can somehow relate and feel everything. ♡ Who's with me then I'll wait in comments :3
