It’s honestly so sad that this woman doesn’t have a Grammy yet she’s literally on two tours, making music videos for every song on the portals album, promoting her Perfumes and still trying to get the budget for a film, she’s literally doing what most main stream artists aren’t even trying to do and it’s sad that she doesn’t have at least one award for what she’s doing.

tunnel vision is all about being manipulated, and that is what melanie perfectly portrayed in this music video - the whole time, she’s being told what to do, and everything good that happens is taken away like “fill their cup, take it away” or “give them flowers, take it away” and then the reference to crybaby and the tears fill up the room is reflecting on how hard it is to put up with the pressure of doing everything right and making she no one is upset, yet still, people will “call them a bitch for being human.”

So, when she sings VOID, the song right before this on her album, she sings about being tangled up in her own intestines. And this video starts with her falling (possibly out of the void) with the intestines still wrapped around her. Bravo, Miss Melanie. Genius to link it all together. From the Death video, straight into the void video, and now with tunnel vision. And songs 1, 2, 3 on her album. This is perfection!

I think the meaning of this music video is what the person wants Melanie to be. Example: 1: Her fans bodyshame her and wanted her to be skinny and tall. 2: The water that she drank during the music video is representing her fans throwing items at her and get interrupted by her 1 fan, that's why she drank the cup for 1 second because it's representing her fans interrupting her.

I love this so much. I love the ending how it seems like she is representing someone trying to control how she lives from behind a screen. It's so accurate from the behavior of her trolls and "fans". She is so beautiful and strong and I love everything she does for us. She deserves better.

LITERALLY, at the end of the mv the setting was an entirely different aesthetic, the video game format illustrates how Melanie’s “fans” are trying to pressure her into reverting back to her Crybaby/K-12 aesthetic, which clearly doesn’t work. Mel shows that she is confident in her new style by breaking the gaming system. I LOVE THIS

This music video is so cool, the portals mvs just keep getting better. I loved the video game aesthetic and how the hearts she sent people are in the music video and create a story. I also liked how the little girl at the end represents the childish fans and internet users who choose to do everything that the heart stones say. The vibes and visual effects are amazing and so high quality. This mv made me realize that tunnel vision is about the general public objectifying Melanie rather than just men in her life. It's directed toward people who only see her as a celebrity or a sex doll rather than an actual human.

the theme really struck me because it was really just an interpretation of the lives of celebrities. their lives are like a video game where fans control them and this mv really brought that message out really well. after i watched the video, i had a feeling that melanie wanted this to be a sister video to show and tell. someone else in the comments had the same thought as me in the "call them a b***h for being human" as fans hate on famous people for having feelings.

I just am so in love with the way she shows how some artists are treated. Especially at 2:29 when a little icon pops up that says "Call them a b*tch for being human". I think that really portrays how artists are treated when they make a decision for themselves that makes them happy, that people don't like. I just love how it really portrays how artists are treated because I know it's a big problem. When analyzing the clip, we can see that it is about the criticism and positive comments that her "fans" made about her appearance and her new style. Throughout the MV we notice small hearts that appear on the screen as everything progresses, as if they were stages in a game. In each heart there are different phrases that the player dictated during the game, as if he wanted to have control of the main character and do whatever he sees fit. Example: "Saying she's demonic." Many fans judged her due to her recent new look. Making unnecessary jokes and even stopping following along. "Give her long hair." After Melanie cut her hair, many fans didn't like it and again judged her for it. "Make her thin and tall." Some fans even made cruel jokes about her weight (Trying to import a standard that they thought was better.) "Make her smile all the time." Maybe this is because she no longer performs her shows without her mask. "Chase her to take a picture." Many people took photos and even went so far as to chase her to get a photograph, which made her uncomfortable. "You made me very upset." Your disappointment with the fans. In the end, the game ends after the player doesn't get what they wanted. However, you can see that the clip is about how far Melanie has gone before her career. The comments, judgments made frustrated and discouraged with their own success. This is a great analytical review of the video but we should remember that these songs were written long before she even released her creature appearance to us. One of my favorite thing about Melanie is the multiple ways her music can be interpreted. Tunnel vision is my most anticipated music video for portals, I had so many ideas for what it could be, and this completely blew it all away, simply stuning, so visually consistent and mature in its mesage and delivery. It really feels like the character of crybaby has grown throught the eras, this is just another perfect example of the complex and powerful way Melanie is able to deliver messages. my interpretation is that she’s playing a character that is a representation of all the perils of fame in the industry, having to create an image that sells or is wide spread. at the end, since “the creature” isn’t the typical archetype of what the industry wants her to be, the game malfunctions and the girl playing appears to be her as her original style, that she is frustrated she can’t escape the demands and being something different, love her 😭❤️💕
