if my theory is correct, light shower will begin with that same flower opening up with her in a different outfit. my theory: since there’s no film confirmed this time around, i believe she’ll make all the music videos connect and release them stitched together once they’ve all dropped. we’ve already seen the videos connect so far, aside from death. and i think this is because she was still planning/hoping to make a film when the music videos for death and void dropped. it would still look great together though because it makes death like an intro to the film/music video compilation

wwaaaaa i love how this was just quite literally a faerie soiree, just a fun gathering of faries all dancing around and having fun together. i love how mel continues to make the music videos relevant to the actual song and lyrics instead of just shooting a bunch of stuff that has nothing to do with the song or story. your story telling is just amazing. i love you so much, i'm so proud of all you're doing this year. you're working so hard for us. i truly hope i'm able to see you either in new york or in florida for the trilogy tour

i’m going to edit my comment because a few people seem to misinterpret it or not understand, i don’t mean to sound incoherent lollll. (or snippy) as i said before, i like to analyze her music videos, Melanie is really artistic and uses a lot of metaphorical lyrics and imagery, she uses a lot of alliterations in her songs indicating a deeper meaning. naturally tall flowers close up protecting itself, it is a process called nyctinasty, its "going to sleep." quoting from Melanie Martinez’s summary on her story she explains “sitting on the roof of my garage, imagining what it would feel like while the warmth of the sun was hitting me. A few weeks later I sat in my bathtub with my guitar and stayed up all night writing a love song about this light,” in the music video, she climbs up a huge flower allowing the warmth to hit her, as she falls asleep the flower covers her leaving her in darkness. she also said "There is a place in the afterlife people under hypnosis describe as a soul cleansing or a shower of light. A place where gem-colored rays of light shine through every inch of your soul." putting it altogether, she is going to a dark place but is protected and it will be filled with light. Many plants close up at night, usually to protect pollen or reduce water loss while the leaves aren't photosynthesising.

Honestly all I can say is- amazing. The visuals, the choreography, her vocals, the melody- perfection. I just can’t believe that there are people out there who think she either hates her fans, is a bad person, is lazy, etc. All of that is jealousy. Melanie did a great job at portraying both of the main messages of the song that not only is this song meant to show escapism through substances, but also to portray the soul reconnecting with previous reincarnates and showing that the afterlife is filled with pure warmth and love
